Leading real estate brand, Seeff recently completed a Senior Development Management Programme (SMDP) through the University of Stellenbosch’s highly respected Executive Education Division (USB-Ed).
All participants passed with flying colours and more than 10% of the group passed with distinctions.
The group of learners comprising 82 Seeff branch licensees, managers and agents was lauded for their achievement at the company’s graduation ceremony during a recent annual convention overseen by the USB-Ed.
Ronel Bornman, head of Seeff’s National training division, the Seeff SMART Academy, said the successful completion of this programme not only confirmed Seeff’s commitment to real estate, but also the managers’ and directors’ enthusiasm to equip themselves with the best possible qualifications. She added that this SMDP was offered at the same level as an NQF 7 qualification and that she was pleased with the outcome.
“These certificates will not only enrich the lives of Seeff’s licensees and managers, but also the experiences of the company’s clientele in the various branches over the African continent. While it is a requirement that all of our licensees are in possession of an NQF 5, this programme goes a step further by elevating the participants to an educational level. Although the programme was mainly academic, the modules were customised for the real estate industry and also comprised of practical elements consequently furnishing participants to expand their business acumen, skills and knowledge.”
Paul Kruger, Seeff’s licensee and Managing Director in Potchefstroom who is also in possession of an MBA degree, said he was highly impressed with the standard and content of the programme.
“I believe that by completing this programme the Seeff group now have some of the best trained individuals in the industry. The programme created a very strong foundation from which the group can continue to build their future strategies.”
Kruger continued to say that it is crucial to constantly invest in a company’s intellectual capital, especially in a highly competitive industry like real estate.
“Ongoing training at all levels within an organisation is essential to remain competitive and it results in better work relations, employee morale, service delivery and improved productivity.”
The next step for Seeff’s Managers and Directors is an Advanced Leadership Programme through USB-Ed which will be offered on a NQF level 8. The programme is due to start during the second half of 2015 and 62 licensees and managers will embark on this programme that includes subjects such as innovation, performance management, market research, commercial negotiations, strategic thinking and leadership.
Samuel Seeff, Chairman of Seeff, said that he was extremely positive about the SMDP programme and how the resultant upskilling of licensees, managers and agents in the group would have a positive impact in the marketplace.
